Writing_Prompt_1-9-2018There’s not really much you can say about a “Writing Prompt” except that it is meant to activate an idea in your head when you read the prompt.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t!

Many time I’ve read a Writing Prompt and absolutely nothing came to mind.

Other times, I’ve got an idea coming to me almost before I finish reading the prompt.

Writing Prompts Are Meant To:

Spur an idea so the writer can get through “Writer’s Block” which I don’t think exist but for another post.

Make you step out of your comfort zone and write about something you would not do on your own.

See how different the stories or poems are from different people. 99 time out of 100, they will be different

Sometimes the prompt will be the awesome beginning of a new story and a new book.

The cup tipped over, spilling its contents onto her mobile phone, which was the only remaining connection to the outside world

You, a potter, create a very special jar which holds…

Writing Prompts Are Not Meant To:

Create stress with the feeling that you “HAVE” to write something for every writing prompt.

Make you feel like your writing is not perfect or useful.

Feel like you have to share with the whole world.

Even if your story or poem gets only half finished, it’s yours to do with as you choose.

As mentioned in the video, you are welcome to have your story or poem published on my blog or on your own.

If it is published on my blog, “YOU WILL RETAIN COPYRIGHTS” to your work.

Hopefully the two prompts I shared from Writing.com inspires you to write something.

I appreciate it if you share my blog with your social media friends and associates. You can share from the social media icons on the left or at the top and bottom of the post.

Wishing everyone a fabulous second week in the New Year.

God Bless,
