New Kindle Review – Awesome Product
For a while now, I have been thinking about buying some kind of book reader. Of course the Amazon Kindle was the first to come to mind.
I asked for many opinions from friends on Facebook and other social sites I belong to and received an array of responses about the Kindle and also the Nook from Barnes and Nobles.
I have a habit of starting many different books about many different subjects. Which book I read at any given time, depends on my mood at that time. Too often I would find myself sitting waiting for a doctor’s appointment, caught in traffic or just somewhere with nothing to do and I wish I had one of my books with me. It would almost always happen that whatever book I would throw in my handbag would not be the one I was in the mood for at that time and it’s just plain silly to carry 4 or 5 books around with me all of the time.
After much deliberation and research, I decided on the Amazon Kindle and I am loving it. I think it is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time.
There are a few different ones available at different prices and wi-fi capability but I decided on the $114 special priced one. I really have no reason to use the wi-fi (although this one does have wi-fi) but since I can find free books and/or purchase and upload books from my computer to the Kindle, wi-fi is not that important to me and the ads DO NOT hinder your reading in any way.
I have about 4 or 5 books loaded on my Kindle and I can pick and choose which to read wherever I am at. I love the fact that the Kindle remembers where you left off when you stopped reading. I can prop it up on a pillow while in bed and not have to hold it, use a eraser on the end of a pencil to turn the page, make notes, make highlights and so much more. I know I have not gone through all of the features yet and I am still leaning more and more about how to use the Kindle but I can say in the last couple of weeks since I bought it, I have been able to read more than I have in months.
Regular books; paperback or hard cover for me are a pain to hold, handle and awkward in turning the pages. I lose track of where I ‘m reading, my book marks always seem to fall out somewhere and I end up not reading at all because I just don’t like the hassle.
On my Kindle I have my Bible (2 versions), a book about drawing, as I am learning to draw, Think and Grow Rich (which I have been meaning to read for years), Rich Dad, Poor Dad, which I am in a discussion group and this is the book we are reading at this time and a novel a new friend of mine (Rebecca Woodhead) just released; Palaces and Calluses which just absolutely draws you into the story as if you were there.
I am also a huge fan of Diana Gabaldon’s books, The Outlander series which, again I started to read many years ago and have never gotten through even the first one. I will be downloading these on my Kindle and starting completely over with the story of Claire and Jamie.
I am still learning how to use the search features of my new Kindle but for now I am giving the Amazon Kindle a BIG “Thumbs Up” in my review.
I haven’t had it long enough yet to comment on the battery life but so far I have only charged it the one time when I first got it.
Are you considering buying a Kindle or a Nook? Do you already have one? Let me know what your opinions are and how much you are enjoying yours.
Have a great day. I’m off to read some more on my Kindle but not sure what I’m in the mood for yet. That’s okay, my choice is only a few button clicks away.

Almost all of us own ebook readers and Kindles and Nook as always are the best. I think ebook reader is the perfect solution to deforestation, there can be no better device than an ebook reader to cut back the number of books on the book shelves.
Kindle comes handy when I am traveling avoiding all those heavy luggage most of them books I used to carry on my trips.
@George@Online Strategies, I don’t travel much but I can see exactly where it would benefit you or anyone who does. I just LOVE my Kindle. I love to read but used to dread reading at night before going to sleep fighting a traditional book but now I look forward to it.
