Inbound Writer Review
So you have your blog set up and have decided what your topic is going to be about and have done your keyword research and you begin to write but now the struggling begins.
We all struggle sometimes with writing, wondering if it makes sense, if people will read it or share it or if it is SEO optimized and all that other stuff we are taught when we start blogging.
I came upon a great WordPress plug-in that will help you in your writing process. It’s called Inbound Writer and there are a few ways that you can use this cool tool to write and improve your writing style.
The free version allows you write up to 8 blogging posts a month with a full working version (UPDATE: It seems they have changed this to 4 blogging posts per month with the free version instead of 8). If you make more posts than 8 per month, you would need to upgrade. As a reminder, most, if not all of my recommendations are to work with free tools but at some point there may come a time where you will have to or even want to upgrade some of the tools you work with.
Many bloggers when working with their blogs worry so much about Google pagerank that they really do not read what they are writing. You have to proofread your writing style to see that it makes sense and that it is easy for people to understand.
Inbound Writer can help you with your blogging and writing style but ultimately it still comes down to the simple fact; “does your writing make sense, can people understand it and is it useful and valuable?”
We are at the point, in my opinion that Google pagerank does not mean quite as much as it used to. True, Google still runs the show but bloggers are now getting to the point where keeping Google happy is affecting their writing style.
Never, never, ever compromise the value of your writing process at the expense of your ultimate written word. It’s your reputation and your name that will be forever branded by what you do now. While you can always improve your writing process from being a beginning writer, to a better writer and to an experienced writer to “Author status” and Inbound Writer can assist with that, you cannot undo obvious bad grammar, spelling and hiding your true creative process just to make the numbers work.
Okay, I’m stepping down off of my “soapbox” now. The point is you can always use help to improve your writing but you cannot use help like Inbound Writer to undo bad writing. If you have written it, your name is on it and it’s on the internet, YOU OWN IT!
Usually when I work with Inbound Writer, I have not had to add keywords or redirect my writing process as I have had to do with this post. I wanted this also to be a test to get you (the reader) involved in this post and urge you to leave comments below to let me know if I have sacrificed my writing style to gain a higher Inbound Writer score.
At this point right now my meter score is in the green area with a number of “83.” I’ve changed my title again and added a few more keywords. I will add some more content and then start the video up again to let you see what the final score is before I publish this post.
Even though the writing process is yours and yours alone to decide what is valuable enough to put your name on it, there are times that a little help is needed to kick-start your creative process.
Download your FREE report and try Inbound Writer out on a couple of your own posts to see if it helps you.
I would love to hear about your experiences with using this WordPress plugin; good or bad.
Please share this post (above and to the left), leave comments (below) and retweet (above and to the left) if you have found this post useful.
To your success,

Hi Monna,
I stumbled across your site whilst researching Inbound Writer. I like your video, a lot – you’ve described the benefits of the plugin but also pointed out that it’s only a tool to ASSIST you. I think people too often try and cut corners and find quick fixes.
I think this program is great for giving writers an overall picture of the theme of the post. If the post doesn’t have a theme, or worse, has multiple themes, Google can’t or won’t rank it because it has no clear direction.
I’m going to give this a try for posts on my medical site.
Also, you have yourself a new follower.
Best,
Kevin
Hello Kevin. Thank you for stopping by and leaving this wonderful comment. I hope you find Inbound Writer as helpful to you and your work as it has been with mine. Monna
Very nice post, I do not blog for that reason really, I cannot write well. I feel my ideas and thoughts have value, but I cannot transmit them to writen or spoken word easily. I confuse the drive through burger guy when I am trying to order a burger and fries.
Stick to what your good at.
Hi Pierce. Thanks for visiting and commenting. We all have our strengths and weakness and we should do what we do best. I had to laugh; I’m always confusing the poor drive-thru people. Have a great day.
