Creative Writing Stories Poems and Random Thoughts
I’m a writer and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t write something, whether it’s a post, a blog comment, an article, notes on a new book idea I have or working on a book already in progress.
Sometimes it’s just a random vent, thought or opinion on something that may end up as a short piece consisting of maybe 200 to 300 words. For example, I found this below that I had published on my blog in July of 2016. My original blog is gone now; my backup failed, so I’m in the process of recreating my site from scratch again.
“I write because it draws me to do what I was meant to do. I write my thoughts to clear my mind, create, expand and give those thoughts a voice to help others through trying times. All of my life, I have written and I never knew why.”
I wrote this when I entered a writing contest by Authors Publish on Facebook at the beginning of March 2014. I didn’t win but it is the first writing contest I have ever entered. I kind of shocked myself when I just saw the post, wrote it and sent it in.
It doesn’t matter if the paragraph is good or not. The point is that I did not give it a second thought about entering the contest. I just did it without thinking which is a major accomplishment for me.
Are you to that point in your writing career?
I would really like to know what you think about this.
Please share your thoughts in the comments below.
