Biz Lady Journal – March 1, 2013

red-check-markCompleted Projects Today:

  • Yesterday I had a doctor appointment and some other errands to do, so I didn’t get much work done except for reading Squidoo lenses, sharing them and thanking people for visiting my lenses.
  • Now for today, I checked my email, sites and programs as I do every day to make sure they are running as they should.
  • Scheduled my tweets on Hootsuite.
  • I surfed my sites and assigned my credits for traffic on;   Instant Cash Surf and  Money Maker Surf
  • Again, received notice that one of my tweets from yesterday was approved for payment by Sponsored Tweets.
  • Clicked on my ads for Inbox Dollars for the day.
  • Now I am off to search for a plugin to use for affiliate sales for  Social Pro Revolution
  • I received enough credits on IBOToolbox to start my ad again for my Double Wedding Ring Quilts.com site.  IBOToolbox is a great and fre.e way to network with other business people, get exposure to your sites and they also have a great URL shortener.
  • I am also testing out another advertising and passive income program called HourlyRevShare  You can join for fre.e and the minimum amount to start receiving traffic to your site is $5.00.  In my opinion, not bad for residual income and 1000 visits to your site.
  • I received my book royalties yesterday from Amazon directly into my checking account for my books sold in paperback and on Kindle. So awesome to have your name on a published book (even self-published).
  • I found some WordPress plugins that I think will work for Social Pro Revolution, so will be working on that this weekend.
  • I added 10 new items to my jewelry boutique today >>>>> Go Jewelry Shopping
  • A couple of days ago I added the contact plugin vCita to my blog. You will see it pop up in a few minutes at the bottom right corner.  It’s a great way for people to contact you and the contact request comes right to your email inbox.  I was contacted by a very nice gentleman tonight that may prove to be beneficial to both of us.  It’s worth checking out.
  • Created my To Do List for tomorrow.

Today has been a very productive day.  It didn’t go quite as I had planned but that’s okay. Sometimes things take a different turn than you have planned for a reason.

How Many Social Networking Communities Can We Handle?

…and can we handle them efficiently?  Apsense has just released their “Brand Marketing Center” which appears to be linked to the most popular and usual social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest and Squidoo.

As most of us know “branding” or making a name for yourself on the internet is very important and can hinder or greatly improve your standing in the social media circles.  As we all work day after day to create a presence so people will know us and remember us and follow our written words or follow in our foot steps in a chosen program or team, there has to come a time where you make a decision on which and just HOW many social networking communities we can keep up with and still offer valuable information and help to our followers.

The Apsense Brand Marketing Center takes just a minimal amount of time to set up (about 5 minutes as they state), as I’ve already done so; http://www.apsense.com/brand/MonnaEllithorpe  It reminds me somewhat of a combination of Pinterest and LinkedIn or maybe just because it is pretty much propagated when you set up your brand page.

I cannot even begin to count the number of social communities there are on the internet and how many that I belong to, as I am sure you belong to many of them too.  Some are linked together which will post to others automatically and some are not and you have to post to them manually.  You have to be very careful when setting up your communities or you will end up with numerous postings of the same things going out which can either label you as a spammer, a very rude person or just plain not paying attention (myself included a lot of times).

For example; I set up my Apsense Brand Page and tweeted it.  Before I knew it, there were 3 of the same postings on my Facebook wall, because of the linking between the social networking sites.  Although I sure did not mean to post so many times to Facebook, it shows that I have not mapped out my social media strategy very well, in terms of posting; where it is going to show up; how many times it is going to show up; etc.

So basically, I am saying that while you are working towards branding yourself on the internet, take note of how all of the social networking communities interact with each other when you post.   If you are not sure, after you make a post, go look at some of them social media sites and see just how many times your 1 post has shown up and make some changes in your social media strategy.

Do you find it overwhelming to see the amount of social networking communities there are out there? Do you find a few and stick with those or do you try to keep up with all of them?  Let other readers know what works for you; good or bad.  Share with your friends and associates.
