How To Work With IBOToolbox Effectively Each Day

IBOToolbox Is Still Free… Since I started working with IBOToolbox (Independent Business Owner) again back in February of 2014, I have been working with it quite a bit to see how well it would benefit you as a marketer to advertise the sale of your books, articles, physical items or even your blog posts.

See the article IBOToolbox Review.  IBOToolbox does seem quite a bit overwhelming when you first start out with it.  It’s almost unbelievable that a marketing platform with so much to offer is provided to marketers for free; but it is.  It started out free in in 2010 and in 2016, it is still free to use.  By being active on IBOToolbox you will earn ad credits or you do have the option to purchase credits but that is up to you. Your membership features are the same whether you earn ad credits or if you buy ad credits. Read the rest of this entry

Scam Phone Calls

Scam Phone Calls

ScamPhoneCallsFor the third time this week and many times in previous weeks before this, I’ve been receiving calls from a person stating they are from Microsoft and that my computer has been sending out “Bad Information and/or Viruses” to other computers and he is calling to help me solve the problem.   In other words, “Scam Phone Calls” in hopes they can sell me something or worse yet, gain access to my computer.

Your Social Network Profile – Are You At Risk?

Your Social Network Profile – Are You At Risk?

networkSince online social networks have rapidly increased in numbers and popularity, it seems like it has become a race to see who can sign up for the most communities and who can get the most friends or contacts.  This brings forth the question, “Your Social Network Profile – Are You At Risk?”

To find individuals that are interested in the same things as you are, whether you are looking to find a business contact or maybe a personal contact, you must create a profile.

4 Tips to Take Advantage of the Summer Slow Down

Unfortunately every summer there is a lull in sales, visits and interaction online and some niches more than others. The kids are out of school, the families are getting ready for vacations and some just take the time to unwind and unplug from technology for a little while.

This can be a perfect time for internet and affiliate marketers to update their sites, check their links and do an overall sprucing up of their sites and advertising campaigns.

I would like to share with you a few things that you can do to get yourself and your site ready for when things pick up again.

1. Install a Link Checker for your blog. WARNING: If you have Google Adsense or Adwords or any kind of pay per click on your site, remove or disable them before installing and running this plugin. Link checkers will check the ads too and it may look like you are committing “click fraud” as it is sometimes called. I use Broken Link Checker by Janis Elsts. There are others you can try but always make sure they say whether they have been checked and are compatible with your WordPress theme.

2. Go through your posts and pages and update any mention of programs or tools that you did work with and/or still work with. I suggest not removing the post or page but updating the status with something like: “I am no longer associated with this program” and maybe redirect to one that you are working with.

3. Photos and graphics. Along with checking links, sometimes graphics disappear too. Check their links and replace if needed.

4. Update and clean up your computer. If you allow manual upgrades of your computer, that should already be taken care of. If not, then you need to go and see that your operating system upgrades are up to date. Over time, when we work with files, graphics, videos, etc., there is so much that accumulates on our computers that we don’t really use any longer, whether it’s software you tested and didn’t like or continue to use; there may be the installation files you can get rid of.

How many times have you taken a picture just trying to get the right one? Did you get rid of the ones you didn’t use? I know I forget to do that half the time. There are obviously things that you do want to keep and it would free up some space on your computer if you removed it.

So purchase a thumb drive or an external drive to store your pictures, videos, etc. on and/or back them up to a cloud storage like DropBox. DropBox gives you 2.5 GB of free space and that is quite a lot of space you can recover from your computer.

For example, I had so many pictures, videos, etc. on my computer that when I ran Microsoft Security Essentials overnight, it was still scanning in the morning at almost 11 hours and was still not done; showing that I had entirely too much junk on my computer.

So use these 4 Tips to Take Advantage of the Summer Slow Down and be ready when people are back from vacations, the kids are back in school and they are ready to burn up the internet wires again.

Do you have any tips that you would like to share with my readers to help with the organization and clean up?  Share them in the comments section below.

Thank you for your visit. I hope you enjoyed your time here.

Squidoo is Outta Here and Will Be Gone Forever

Squidoo is Outta Here and Will Be Gone Forever

Squidoo announced this week (August 15, 2014; “HubPages is acquiring key content from Squidoo, creating the largest site of its kind in the world. Today, we’re announcing that as a result of this acquisition, Squidoo is moving the best of its content to HubPages.”

If you are still with Squidoo and have held on hoping that things would somehow turn back into the Squidoo we all used to know and love to work with, then you can stop holding your breath or hoping. It’s going to be done; it’s going to be over; it’s going to be kaput.

Now you have a decision to make as to what you want to do with your content that you have on Squidoo.
