Weekly Writing Prompt 1-23-2018

weeklywritingpromptvideocover-Just in case there is such a thing as “Writer’s Block” (I don’t believe there is, myself) join in with the Weekly Writing Prompts and keep practicing your creative writing craft every day.

According to the “Success Consciousness blog”

Experts estimate that the mind thinks between 60,000 – 80,000 thoughts a day. That’s an average of 2500 – 3,300 thoughts per hour. That’s incredible.

Other experts estimate a smaller number, of 50,000 thoughts per day, which means about 2100 thoughts per hour. This too is a great number of thoughts.

Is It Any Wonder That Any Of Us Can Function At All With So Many Thoughts?

Writing Prompts also add a bit of confusion to those many thoughts you already have but I believe that once you start writing, the actual incredible amount of different thoughts will come racing out in your writing in one way or another.

I hope you enjoy working with the two prompts I have chosen this week.

I have been writing in journals, diaries, poems and creating short stories since my teen years. Writing became a way to release the never-ending ideas, thoughts and sentences that rambled around in my mind; waiting to find a place in a story.

  2. Hi Monna, at a loose end and wanted to try this – a first draft straight from the pen (well the keyboard anyway) although I did google a couple of synonyms. No title yet I’m afraid

I have included a link to my old poetry blog, but I find it is nearly two and a half years since I posted. Wow, time does move on.

You can find the full piece John has written at: http://monnaellithorpe.com/blog/a-connection-to-the-past/
